Art Inspirations: Nilofer Suleman's Capital Talkies

Wednesdays are hard. The next two days look disastrously difficult to overcome. So on days as these, humor is our best friend!
Presenting our inspiration for the day. Indian painter/muralist Nilofer Suleman’s paintings combine kitsch, old-warm charm, and small-town India replete with its “out-there” characters, innuendo-laced (and misspelled!) English words, and an amazing contradiction of movement in the stillness of time-stamp.

Today we smile at Capitol Talkies. In front of a kitschy village theater playing a dubious “Tarzan and the Huntress”  - gossipy old ladies, the man with the roving eye, the preening girls shooting a look at the admirer…many stories abound! And we always love a good story.

Happy Wednesday!

The Allure of Decay

We start the weekend early with an article from The Huffington Post.
German photographer Christian Richter spends his time travelling across Europe, capturing old decaying buildings with his camera. The textures, colors, angles, and moods tell tales of time…of lives lived in glory, of stories that were created in these spaces, and of unanswered questions galore. Surreal compositions and a keen artistic eye, indeed.

Read, no, feast your eyes on the full article here and look into the artists's full portfolio of work here.
Happy Weekend everyone!
